Celebrate World Doula Week!

Following Emma's birth, I felt inspired about birth and trained to become a labor doula.  It is an honor to provide support for families as they prepare for and welcome their new babies into the world.  I feel blessed to have worked with four families during my first year as a doula, each birth has taught me different lessons on life, family and labor.

It's officially World Doula Week!

World Doula Week is to empower doulas all over the world to continue their work to improve the physiological, social, emotional and psychological health of women, newborns and families in birth and in the postpartum period.

Birth is such an amazing, powerful and sacred event in life, a true miracle to witness. I believe in the power and knowledge within women's bodies to give birth and have experienced how education and support about the process can enhance the experience.  All women deserve to have the best birth possible.

Below are two special moments I'd like to share....me holding two of my "doula babies." I will always have a special place in my heart for them and their parents.  Thank you for giving me the chance to share your most important day with you!

I am so happy to be a doula and appreciate the support of my husband, family, clients and friends!

Happy World Doula Week, everyone!
